La Bretesche

Explore the Region through its Vineyards and delicious Local Produce

The Loire Valley and Cher Valley are vine-growing regions steeped in tradition.

Come and stay at the Ferme de la Bretesche for the opportunity to find out about – or quite simply enjoy – some excellent wines and delightful appellations, including Chinon, Touraine, Saumur, Bourgueil, Vouvray, Sancerre, Cheverny and Chenonceaux.

Michèle and Jacques will be happy to tell you more about their region’s different vineyards and wines and trips you could make out into the Cher Valley wine region or along the wine routes through the Loire Valley.

Make the most of a stay with us to sample the delicious regional produce on offer: share a piece of baguette spread generously with pork Rillettes or a pork Rillons salad, dig into a Géline de Touraine chicken dish, try some Sologne asparagus, pop into the Saint Michel biscuit factory in Contres or the Girardot distillery in Chissay-en-Touraine, marry food and wine by serving a specially selected glass with some Crottin de Chavignol, Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, Valencay or Selles-sur-Cher goat’s cheese, and treat yourself to the pear speciality “Poires Tapées” …

All food lovers will enjoy working up an appetite during a stroll around the food markets in Amboise, Loches and Selles-sur-Cher, and having a chat with the shopkeepers at the Halles de Tours, or Halles de Valencay.
